Well I have to say it's, unfortunately, already beginning. I was in a FoW group last night, some of us died and were res'd. Somewhere along the way I (or someone) talked about the candy canes removing DP.
Now instead of being a decent team player, helping the team become more effective again/remove the DP, one guy decides so kindly to offer candy canes for 250g. Sigh. Ok it's peanuts given the area, but still, how incredibly selfish. I didn't have any on me at the time, but I didn't pay for it for want of not encouraging this lameness. It sits right up there with people trying to scam others to continue missions or monks who won't heal unless paid. I really hope this doesn't continue, I know people are greedy selfish sob's but that took the biscuit.

i was doing a fow run the other day after they came out. we had this HORRID necro that just did nothign but be an aggro monkey and died a lot. I gave him a whole stack of them and said here, youll need these.
I always carry them with me now as they can be very useful. the hint is to not use them al lthe time. only use them when you have 30% or more dp as 15% isnt all that harming to you. it is a setback, but not life threatening.

Actually I agree with you but I even feel rotten it comes time to use a key in FOW. I usually have plenty of keys since chests there seem to be worthwhile. When people offer to pay, I accept the money. But - in almost every case - I'll receive whispers from at least one person with no gold asking for a key. It's impossible for me to turn them down.

i got like 50 candy canes from farming in ascalon for the grawl necklaces and gargoyle skulls from the presents maybe later that day still had them went to uw with some guildies and some other people we almost cleared out like 99% of uw before one of us had to go (i love candy canes) whenever one of us died didn't use any until we got to 60% dp then we got rid of about half with candy canes and then worked the other part off they are good so in uw, fow, and sf i ain't greedy specially if it can get me the drops it did in uw my group got like almost 2-3 ectos each throughout hte whole area and the gold alone was good like 1k in gold and then the items brought in another 2-3k but ya the candy canes are good for when you got like 45-60% dp never use them if you have less just my thought for em

Razorback fossil use punctuation marks, thats what they are for.
I usually farm outside Bergen Hotsprings in Nebo Terrace and the Cursed Lands. I farm for Decayed Orr Emblems which are 3 for one winteritem. It takes some time but the udead are fun to kill, better than charrs, and sometimes even dorp other nice things.

I'm trying to stock up on at least 250 spiked eggnog so I can throw one hella big New Years bash. I should be able to keep most people happy with 250, don't you think? That and I want to see if I can drink enough to make my monk pass out.

Hey guys, just wondering, have the shards stopped dropping? I've been killing stuff in all of the places (cleared an entire zone of charr and grawl) that people have said they drop frequently in, yet I have received nothing for my effort, not a single shard has dropped. If anyone could spare a few shards for a wand to go with my gingerbread focus, I'd really appreciate it.

Do some gargoyle runs. I always get a couple of shards during those runs.

There are a few in my guild that are stockpiling candy canes in anticipation of the price going up. I've got enough for myself, mostly for fissure/UW runs, or when I go henching to skill cap.
And yes, I feel bad for anyone who misses out on these candy canes. But their loss will be someone elses gain.

I've always found gargoyle runs outside Nolani Academy to be the best, since the collector only takes 1 skull per item in Ascalon, and that is a good ratio
I take my ranger, and it is really quite fun ... EoE bombing FTW!
Ranger/Mo:
Barrage
Dodge
Whirling Defense
Lightning Reflexes
Storm Chaser
Edge of Extinction
Troll Unguent
Holy Veil
Attribs are something like:
Marks (whatever is required for your bow) mine is 10
BM 8 (i switch to a +4 superior BM mask to cast spirit, then switch back)
Wilderness 10+
Expertise 10+
(sorry I don't have exact build, i'm at work! )
Basically I do two groups, the ones at the bottom of the first stairs and the little boss that's there, then move on to the ones to the north. You want to spam troll unguent (as surprisingly enough, the short conjure phantasms will wear away at you after a while), dodge when you're not burdened to move a bit faster, and once you get a group balled up nice and close, I throw on the BM mask, cast EoE, then switch back to my marks. mask and barrage the closest, clustered group ... once you kill 4 or 5 (usually 2 or 3 shots at most with barrage) the rest just domino and die.
Average 3-4 candy cane shards a run, 16-25 skulls a run, with the average run taking in the 3-5 minute range.
And yes, to someone's post a few back: candy canes are *very* useful in the UW and FoW when you have a crummy PUG ... plus they give you minty fresh breath

I do exactly what you do except I carry Live Vacariously, Conjure Phantasm is no longer a problem when you heal +-40HP per Barrage. Its Imagined Burden that gives me the most problems, makes this run at least a minute longer. I've considered bringing Hex Breaker just because of it.
One thing that bothers me about EoE though, if it kills gargoyles that you havent aggroed they wont drop anything.
